William M. Sweet

Practice limited to Civil Litigation since admission in 1978.

Mr. Sweet started his career as an insurance claims adjuster and supervisor and attended law school at night while working full time. Practicing in insurance defense was a natural first step out of law school. While limiting his practice to civil litigation, he has expanded into all areas of insurance defense and coverage litigation, general tort liability, commercial litigation, construction litigation, and professional liability.

He has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout southeastern Michigan. Mr. Sweet was selected as a “Super Lawyer” by his peers in 2006, and is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. Mr. Sweet also serves as an arbitrator and is a fully trained mediator, providing services in facilitated mediation.
