Andrew D. Sugerman is a Shareholder at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where he maintains one of the most active trial practices in the firm. Andrew has prevailed in more than one hundred fifty trials across every county in Southeast Michigan, with a record that extends to the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.

Andrew’s trial instincts were forged early. He began his legal career as a Senior Public Defender in New York City, handling a high-volume criminal caseload that demanded rapid case assessment, courtroom composure, and the ability to try cases back to back. He brought that foundation to Michigan, where his civil practice now concentrates on personal injury defense, general tort and negligence liability, insurance coverage disputes, and commercial litigation. The courtroom remains his primary venue; Andrew tries cases rather than settling them by default.

A Voice on Trial Advocacy

That reputation has made Andrew a sought-after voice on trial advocacy. He has lectured for the Washtenaw County Bar Association Trial Lawyers Section and the Automobile Club Insurance Association on effective defense strategies in personal injury actions.
