Clyde R. Woods

Clyde R. Woods is an Associate at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where he focuses on civil litigation, including insurance defense, insurance coverage disputes, corporate litigation, contract disputes, probate and trust litigation, and complex family law matters involving business interests, professional practices, closely held companies, and high-value marital estates. Clyde’s connection to the firm predates his law license. He first joined CMP Law in 2021 as a law clerk while attending Michigan State University College of Law, and he returned to the firm as an attorney after graduating in 2023.

At Michigan State, Clyde earned a Trial Practice Certificate through the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practicum Institute and was a member of the Elliot Spoon Business and Securities Law Institute. That trial-focused training carries directly into his business background and supports his civil litigation practice, including insurance defense, contract disputes, business litigation, and domestic relations matters involving complex financial or property issues. He works closely with the firm’s family law team on divorce, custody, support, and property division matters involving family businesses, professional practices, closely held companies, and high-value marital estates.

Before law school, Clyde graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2019 with a double major in Finance and Marketing. He served as a board member of the Student Appropriations Committee and participated in the Seidman School of Business IPO investment club. His finance education, combined with his background operating family-owned businesses, provides practical grounding for litigation involving business disputes, damages, valuation issues, property division, and other financially complex matters.
