Forty Years of Guiding Families

Elizabeth M. Petoskey is a Shareholder at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where she has specialized in estate planning, trusts, and probate for more than forty years. An Ann Arbor native, Elizabeth works with estates of every size, from simple plans for young families to the most complex multi-generational structures. She brings a team approach to the process, coordinating each client’s estate plan with their financial advisors to produce a strategy that fits.

Betsy takes pride in organizing what can feel like an overwhelming process and putting issues in terms everyone can understand. Estate settlement challenges families in ways that often come as a surprise, and she has spent her career helping people navigate those moments with clarity and confidence. Multi-generational planning is a particular focus: the balancing act parents face when trying to be fair to their children while addressing each family member’s distinct needs is something Elizabeth has guided hundreds of families through.

Rooted in Ann Arbor

Elizabeth’s civic involvement reflects the same long-term perspective she brings to her legal work. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, including two years as its Chair, and she is a past Chair and Trustee of the Washtenaw Community College Foundation. She previously served as President of the Michigan Theater’s Board of Trustees and as President of the Ann Arbor Pioneer Booster Club. She also consults on a volunteer basis with several other nonprofit organizations in the region.
