Matthew C. Rettig is a Shareholder at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where he focuses on personal injury defense, general tort and commercial litigation, ERISA and employee benefits, employment litigation, and insurance coverage matters. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Matt graduated from the University of Michigan and earned his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law, where he served on the Michigan State Law Review and completed the Trial Practice Institute.
Matt has spent the vast majority of his career in the Metro Detroit and Washtenaw County legal communities, building a practice rooted in the same courts where he first appeared as a young attorney. That local grounding, combined with academic distinction and early trial training, positions him within CMP Law’s insurance defense litigation and general civil litigation teams as an attorney who knows both the substantive law and the procedural landscape of Michigan courts. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Michigan (2009, 2012, 2013, and 2014).
