Sarah S. Tayter is an Associate at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where she focuses her practice on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Originally from Kalamazoo, Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Master of Public Health, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan.
Sarah believes that a well-designed estate plan is ultimately a gift to those who will one day rely on it. Effective planning does more than protect assets and nominate fiduciaries. it can reduce uncertainty, preserve family harmony, and provide a path forward during a difficult time.
Sarah’s approach to estate planning is thoughtful and detail-oriented, with a particular emphasis on ensuring clients truly understand how their plan works. She takes time to walk clients through their documents in plain, accessible language, so they feel informed, confident, and prepared.
Sarah also devotes a substantial portion of her practice to probate and trust administration, guiding personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries through the legal and practical responsibilities that follow the loss of a loved one. She works closely with families to move administrations forward efficiently while remaining sensitive to the challenges that often accompany them.
After beginning her career at a prominent Detroit-based law firm, Sarah returned to Ann Arbor in 2013 to raise her four daughters with her husband, Michael. She has since completed the Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and continues to build her practice as a member of CMP Law’s estate planning, probate, and trust administration team.
