W. Daniel Troyka

From Paris to Princeton to Ann Arbor

W. Daniel Troyka is a Shareholder at Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C., where he advises business owners, builders, developers, municipalities, and individuals across a broad range of commercial, real estate, governance, and appellate matters. Daniel has practiced in this space since 1997, and his work at CMP Law regularly results in appearances before Michigan’s appellate courts, where several of his decisions have shaped the governing law.

Daniel’s path to Ann Arbor ran through three states and two countries. After graduating from Princeton University with honors (1990) and earning his Juris Doctor with high honors from Boston University Law School (1994), he worked for an international law firm in Paris on M&A litigation. He then served as a law clerk to justices on the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the Rhode Island Supreme Court before practicing litigation and bankruptcy law in Boston from 1997 to 2002. He also served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Boston Municipal Court. That range of experience, from cross-border transactions to state supreme court chambers to a criminal courtroom, informs a practice built on thorough preparation and practical problem-solving.

Rooted in Washtenaw County

Since arriving in Ann Arbor in 2003, Daniel has become an active part of the community, serving on local boards and commissions including the City of Saline Zoning Board of Appeals and the Foundation for Saline Area Schools. At CMP Law, his litigation practice intersects with the firm’s municipal law, real estate, and business and corporate law teams, and he has co-chaired the Washtenaw County Bar Association’s Trial Practice Section.
