Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C. is pleased to announce that Stephen K. Postema has joined the firm to enhance its municipal-law, litigation, and employment-law capabilities. Mr. Postema’s distinguished public-sector career and proven record of legal leadership bring significant depth and experience to the firm.
Mr. Postema is an Ann Arbor native and has practiced law in the region since 1986. He served as the longest-tenured City Attorney for the City of Ann Arbor and joined CMP in 2023. His practice focuses on litigation, labor and employment law, and municipal-law matters. At the City of Ann Arbor, Mr. Postema defended the city in major cases involving the Open Meetings Act, Freedom of Information Act, civil-rights, governmental immunity, takings, employment law, and constitutional matters. Several of his cases established precedent under Michigan law.
Stephen’s public-sector record and leadership in municipal law bring depth to our practice that few attorneys in Michigan can match. We are fortunate to have him with us.
